Cataract Removal By Phacoemulsification
Cataract Means opaqueness of natural crystalline biconvex lens inside our eye, usually due to ageing. Cataract causes transmission block to light rays reaching retina, leading to gradual loss of vision. Surgical treatment is the right choice for this problem. Though several methods of surgical treatment like ICCE, ECCE, SICS and PHACO emulsification are available, PHACO an advanced technology is the ideal treatment.

Since PHACO can be done without injection and without stitches as a Daycare procedure, Patients are encouraged to undergo surgical treatment in early stage of cataract as soon as their routine activities are affected by the visual loss. In PHACO procedure, recovery is rapid and patient can resume to the normal activities immediately.
Earlier, people used to wait for total maturity of cataract as per the surgeon’s advice, as old technique was ideal for removing mature cataracts. Since IOL technology is advancing, cataract surgery has become refractive surgery leading to the concept that it is not just a vision restoring procedure but also helpful to get back the near normal vision in all respects.
This is made possible with the advent of aspheric lens, square edge, foldable lens, mono & multi focal lens, toric lens, blue light filter lens, contrast sensitivity enhancing lens, glare reducing lens etc.
At sunayana eye hospital PHACO emulsification is done using advanced PHACO machines,Milennium B&L, Zeiss operating microscope and micro surgical instruments inside the state of the art operation theatre with skilled and experienced surgeons with the help of trust worthy staff.
